Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart! For they shall see God."

To be pure in heart is the opposite of what the Pharisees were. The Pharisees were all outwardly show, but their hearts were full of selfishness and greed. Their motives were not pure. They had selfish motives behind their actions. A person with a pure heart has no pretense or deceit. They are open and honest. Their actions are not done out of selfish motives, but out of concern for the welfare of other and out of love for their Heavenly Father and their fellow mankind. Just as no one is sinless on their own, no one can be pure in heart on their own. It is only by total submission to God and allowing Him to make changes in their lives, their thoughts, and their desires, can a person be pure in heart.

When a person submits to God and allows those changes to be made, they develop a relationship with Him and get to know Him. They "see" God by learning about Him and His desires for our lives. The person understands that God is real and is working in their lives. They recognize changes occurring and see God blessing them and using them in ways they never imagined.

This growing and changing that occurs in the person's life will continue for the rest of their life. It doesn't happen over night, but each person grows and keeps growing spiritually at different pace. There is no set standard for everyone. As long as we continue to grow and allow God to keep us pure in heart we will eventually really see Him face to face when He comes to take us home to Heaven.

The person who is pure in heart is truly blessed and happy. There is nothing better than a close relationship with our Heavenly Father, and nothing more exciting, rewarding or fulfilling than to live the life He has planned for each of us. Life with God is never boring, never empty, and never lonely. He will fill our every need.

And my God will fill your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
