James 1:5 If any of you needs wisdom to know what you should do, you should ask God, and he will give it to you. God is generous to everyone and doesn't find fault with them.

If ever there is a place where wisdom is needed, it is in dealing with people. No two people react exactly the same or view things exactly alike. Therefore the first step would be to go to God and ask for wisdom before any interaction with another person. Without the constant guidance from God we're likely to say or do the wrong thing. Without constant dependence on God, the door is left open for the devil to come in and really mess things up. Look at Proverbs 3:5-7;

Trust in the LORD with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the LORD in everything you do, and he will show you the right way.

Never let yourself think that you are wiser than you are; simply obey the LORD and refuse to do wrong.”

Total dependence on God and a humble attitude. This is the only safe way to approach others. It is too easy to become overconfident and think too highly of oneself. When this happens, it's difficult to get along with others. Romans has something to say about this.

Rom 12:16 “Be in harmony with one another. Do not have a high opinion of yourselves, but be in agreement with common people. Do not give yourselves an air of wisdom.”

Every beat of our heart, every move we make is dependent on God. None of us are here on this earth by our own doing. God created everyone. It is only through Him that we are able to do anything right. Just as without Him, we all are equally vulnerable to really mess things up. A person with a realistic and humble view of themselves will go to God for wisdom in all they do. This is the first and most important step for developing desirable social skills.
