This seems to go along with Love believes all things. From what I've studied, it looks like Paul is still talking about thinking the best of others. By hoping all things, we would hope the best of another person. I believe this is talking about how we handle rumors and how we deal with those who have walked away from God and seem to be determined to self-destruct.

In dealing with rumors, our love for another would cause us to hope that the rumor is just that – a rumor. Instead of believing every juicy piece of gossip, we would hope that the truth will be discovered and the person's true character would shine forth and put an end to the rumors.

When we're dealing with the person who has wandered from the truth, our love for them would never give up hope for them. It doesn't matter how bad their life is, we should never say they're hopeless or a loser and give up on them. True love will always know that as long as there is life, there is hope. Never walk away. Keep loving the person, and keep praying for them. God hasn't given up hope. He is always calling His lost ones back to Him. He paid a huge price for every soul, He will do all He can to bring each of us home to Him.
