I'm about to tell you how wonderful you are!

Ever wonder if God really notices you? Maybe you think you're not anyone important and God has more important things to pay attention to and that He doesn't understand you? Have I got the verses for you!

PSALM 139

 verses 1-3

"O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up;  You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways."

Think God is not hearing your prayers? Look at verse 4.

"For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O Lord, You know it altogether."

Verse 5 is great for those days when the world is coming at you from all directions and is seems you're facing it all alone, with no help or protection from anywhere.  "You have enclosed me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me."

You can't even hide from God. He knows where you are.  You, the individual who is reading this, God is watching you and knows where you are. You are that important to Him!

Check out verses 7-12.

"Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?  If I ascend into heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold You are there.  If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.  If I say, 'Surely the darkness shall fall on me, even the night shall be light about me; indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to you."

Wait, don't go away yet. It gets even better! The next time you start to get down on yourself because you don't think you look good enough, or you have a physical imperfection, or a disability of some sort, check this out!

Verses 13 and 14!

"For You have formed my inward parts; You have covered me in my mother's womb.  I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well." 

Because of sin, God has to allow certain things to happen, including disabilities, birth defects, but He keeps His hand in it and controls it all. He knows what you can handle.  He takes those imperfections and perfects them.  He makes you "fearfully and wonderfully made."  He creates in you the ability to turn those imperfections around and use them to encourage people and help them see God as He really is. He's not helplessly standing by watching it all happen. His hands are right in there making you a wonderful person! He looked ahead and saw what you would need to face the life you had coming to you.

Read on. Verses 15 and 16.

"My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.  Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.  And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them."

God loves does love you and does see you.  He never leaves you.  He's with you now as you read this.

Verses 17 and 18.

"How precious also are Your thoughts to me, Oh God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with you." 

He is your Father. Your Heavenly Father who loves you. To Him, you are a wonderful person. He doesn't see any imperfections, He just sees you and He adores you as any Father would adore their son or daughter, only better, because He is perfect and holy. He can only love you with a perfect  and holy love. Remember that the next time you feel unimportant, unloved, or ugly. The most important Person in the whole universe thinks you are wonderful!
